Palestine- A Place For Tourists To Visit
Palestine finds itself a place in the list of the most beautiful countries of the world. However, the tourism industry has failed to make a mark due to several factors. Prominent in the list of course is the conflict with Israel. With regular reports of violence, tourists usually refrain from visiting. The Palestinian Ministry for Tourism and Antiquities has been trying very hard to revive this industry. Fortunately, things have started to look positive and with some levels of peace settling in, tourists have started pouring in.
The tourism sector has gained much in last few years and has been instrumental in raising the economy of the country. Some places which attract a good number of the tourists on regular basis are Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jericho, Gaza, Rafah and BeitJala. Interestingly, some tourist groups have come forward with some exciting ideas to develop the tourism sector. To attract the tourists from all over the world, different kinds of facilities like accommodation, security etc. have been enhanced and improvised upon. A large number of hotels have come up to accommodate them.
These kinds of facilities are definitely going to help attract tourists in the coming years. As a result, the economy is definitely going to get stronger. Moderate temperature across the year is an additional boon which the industry is expected to exploit to their advantage. If things go as planned, the growth of Palestinian travel industry will become an example for the world to follow and admire. With its growth, there is a corresponding increase in job opportunities. Large pay scales and high living standards are the key motivators for more and more people to get attached with this industry.
Some places which are worth visiting while in Palestine includes The Manger Square, Church of the Nativity (considered to be the birth place for Jesus Christ), Nablus (world famous for the 30 tall minarets) etc. Apart from taxi facilities, car rentals can also be done in popular cities like Nablus, Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Apart from the aerial route, tourists can also enter from Allenby/King Hussein bridge border crossing. Multiple entry points makes commute easier for those living in nearby countries. Not to forget those who prefer driving to flying.
For long, Palestine has been trying to create a positive impression for themselves and finally they seem to be succeeding. However, in order to achieve 100% success, a lot still remains to be done. First and foremost, they need to resolve all volatile conflicts. Apart from this, infrastructural developments along with drastic increase in amenities made available to public needs to be addressed. Unfortunately for the travel industry, it is hugely dependent on the prosperity of the country. If the country cannot cope up with the world, the industry will definitely suffer and will not even be able to exploit the natural gifts to their full potential. Nonetheless, sighting the recent changes, it is only a matter of time when things will get back to normal and the industry will become a major contributor to the country's economic growth.
