Palestine Business Culture

One of the most popular countries of the Middle East is Palestine. The scenic beauty of this country has no comparison. However, that does not drive a country and this one here is facing some difficult times with social issues which have affected the past, present and are also bound to affect the future of its economic state. It is heartbreaking to see how poor the state of the economy is despite the huge potential it has.

The major issues that are affecting the business and economy of Palestine are of military and political backgrounds. The rights to land, occupation and issues related to settlements are some of the sources of the conflicts between Israel and Palestine. Unfortunately, Israel has the upper hand and has had great effect on the business conditions of Palestine. According to some socialists, Israel and Palestine used to share the same source of water in the early 1990s. But when conflicts erupted between the countries, Israel reserved the great portion of the water strategically. This caused water problems in Palestine. Because of this war between these two countries capitalized. Till date, investors across the world hesitate in investing their money here. This has effectively reduced total development by a huge margin.

The tourism business of the Palestine was another casualty because of the conflicts between the countries. Visitors from different nations do not feel secure enough to travel to the Palestine. There is virtually no financial help from the rich nations. Travel industry is one of the important sources of the income for any country and Palestine is lacking in this sector. The tourism sector plays a major role in the development of the economy of any country and it provides livelihood to good portion of the population. While it could have flourished, it ceases to exist.

Probably the best way to understand the cause of war between these two countries is to study the social issues and have a close look at their historical biography, international relations and military conditions. It will help a great deal in understanding the past and estimating the future of Palestinian business. Before anything can be done, conflict between the two countries need to be resolved.

To make an estimation of the total potential of Palestine - it owns a good amount of oil reserves, has the most fertile of lands for agriculture, skilled labor is available in plenty, beautiful places for sight-seeing which can attract a huge number of tourists. To think of it, if the country can capitalize on even a couple of these, there is a lot to gain in the times to come. What the country needs is a strong leadership that can pave the path towards success. Unless this happens soon, the country would succumb to global pressures and break into pieces. International agencies would be more than willing to lend a helping hand. But this is not possible unless the country succeeds in making itself a stable economy and generates confidence in others.
